Clague Playhouse is holding auditions for The Woman in Black
Written by Stephen Mallatratt and Susan Hill; Directed by Ron Newell 

AUDITIONS: Tuesday, June 27 and Wednesday, June 28 at 7:30pm at Clague Playhouse

The audition will consist of cold readings from the script. There will be no callbacks. Casting notices will be posted on the website on or before Thursday, July 6th. Rehearsals start Monday, August 7th. Performances run from September 15th through October 8th, Thursdays through Saturdays at 8:00PM and Sundays at 2:00PM.

An Actor – Male, age 20 – 30  British Accent

    Plays himself and “Young Kipps” – a solicitor

Kipps – Male, age 50 – 60  British Accent

                  Storyteller & plays all the following characters with a different voice & physicality:

  1. Tomes – 50s – A law clerk with perpetual sniffles.
  2. Mr. Bentley – 60s – CEO of Bentley, Haigh, Sweetman & Bently, solicitors.
  3. Sam Daily – late 50s – Rich land owner, well dressed but w/vulgar jewelry. Brash.
  4. Landlord – Hotel Gifford – Snoopy, suspicious & emotional.
  5. Mr. Jerome – 50 – 80 – Property Agent. Bland & business like, at times uneasy.

Woman in Black – No Lines – mid 30s – Flexibility, endurance & stamina required. Dance & Comedia experience helpful. Part of the audition will be to convey a story while wearing a mask.
