Clague Playhouse is seeking young playwrights for the new summer offering, CLAGUE BARNSTORMERS: WORKSHOP FOR ASPIRING YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS. Aspiring young playwrights in grades 7-10 are invited to join us for the workshop, running July 10-21, 2017. This workshop has been made possible with the generous help of a grant from Cuyahoga Arts and Culture (CAC).

Do you have an aspiring thespian in your home? Know a future producer? Are you aware of bright young writer waiting to tell their story? Clague Playhouse has the answer for young creative minds this July.

The program, which will run Mondays through Fridays, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM at Clague Playhouse, is a two-week, hands on workshop where students collaborate with each other and professionals in the fields of Creative Writing and Dramatic Arts to create, produce, and ultimately perform original one-act plays for a live audience on the Clague Playhouse stage. Students will have opportunities to fulfill writing, acting, and production roles. There will be two culminating performances on July 21 and 22 at 7:00pm. Lunch will be provided each day.

Registration is being handled through the City of Westlake Recreation Center. Cost is $110 for members of the Westlake Rec, and $120 for non-members. To access the online form, click here www.cityofwestlake.org/287/recreation and go to the Rec Gazette link – registration is on page 10 under “Summer Camps,” (listing 305519-01). Participants can also pick up the Gazette for registration at the Rec Center, located at 28955 Hilliard Boulevard, Westlake, Ohio 44145.

Clague & Company

“Let Us Entertain You”

Clague & Company, the community outreach program of Clague Playhouse, is available to present entertainment for clubs, groups, local organizations, senior citizens centers, private parties, and special occasions.

Presentations are appropriate for most groups and all ages. Currently, there are two skits available:

  • The comedy skit, “The Ladies of the Mop”, tells the performance dreams of four cleaning ladies, hired to clean up a theatre after an evening performance, all in rhyme.
  • The next comedy skit is “The Committee Meeting”, takes a humorous look at what goes on at many organization/club meetings.

Skits are performed on a donation basis and all proceeds directly benefit Clague Playhouse.

For more information and/or to schedule a performance, please contact the Clague Playhouse Box Office 440-331-0403.
